Ranieri leaves Inter Milan after six months

Ranieri left after a weekend defeat by old rivals Juventus, their sixth loss in 10 games in all competitions, left them struggling to qualify for next season's Champions League.
The Serie A club said on their website that Ranieri had left his post and Andrea Stramaccioni, who was on the coaching staff, would take temporary charge of the team, becoming Inter's third coach of the season.
"The President Massimo Moratti and all FC International would like to thank Claudio Ranieri and his staff for their professionalism and dedication and sincerity in recent months at the helm of the team," a club statement said.
Ranieri, the former Chelsea, Valencia, Juventus and AS Roma manager, took over at Inter last September but the side have struggled and are eighth in Serie A, 10 points behind third-placed Lazio who are in the final Champions League spot.
Inter Milan won the Champions League, Serie A and Italian Cup treble in 2010 under coach Jose Mourinho, who left immediately afterwards, and claimed the Serie A title five seasons in a row from 2006.
However, they have struggled since with an aging team and twice this season broke the record for fielding the oldest side in the Champions League. Their team in the first game of the round-of-16 tie against Olympique Marseille had an average age of 31 years and 331 days.
Ranieri replaced Gian Piero Gasperini who was in charge for only five competitive matches, and was their fourth coach since Mourinho's departure, the club having parted company with Rafael Benitez and Leonardo last season?
Moratti had suggested earlier on Monday that Ranieri would see out the season. "I think so," Moratti told reporters when asked if Ranieri would stay in charge for the rest of the campaign.
"Of course (the Juve defeat) is a blow, it's also a rather undeserved defeat given the way we played in the first half, but seeing as we didn't score a goal, then obviously you can also concede."
Inter's only glimmer of hope this term has been the youth team winning a competition in London at the weekend and Moratti suggested it was time to give some of them a chance at senior level.
"I'm not the coach but I think there are already three or four who could feature for a few minutes, perhaps even more," he said.
Ranieri had previously defended his decision to bank on experience, saying young players could buckle easily under the pressure at the San Siro.
Ranieri made a slow start but a run of seven consecutive Serie A wins in December and January, including a 1-0 victory over neighbors AC Milan, suddenly had them talking of challenging for the title.

The Indian junction, Sania Mirza and Mahesh Bhupathi devastated the Italian-Kazakh pair, Daniele Bracciali and Galina Voskoboeva in the French Open Semi-Final on Wednesday. They gave a nerve-wrecking performance at the clay court in Roland Garros to get a straight set victory in 6-4, 6-2 which swayed their way to the French Open Final. The Indian duo is just one step away from the Grand Slam and this is the first time they are in the final round of this tournament.
They ended the game against unseeded Italian-Kazakh pair in just 70 minutes to enjoy the finalist position. From the opening set, their dominance was quite prominent. Although they missed two serves but bounced back during three break chances and ended the set with 6-4. During the second set, they played swiftly and smoothly without much attack from the rival side. Finally they manifested 76% serve share and got 16 points from the second set. From the entire match, they collected 64 points leaving their opponent with only 49 points.
Experiencing seven Grand Slams in mixed doubles, this will be the third Grand Slam final for Mahesh Bhupati with Sania Mirza. In 2008, they were the runners-up in Australian Open and in the following year, they won the championship title which was also the first and the only Grand Slam for Sania Mirza.
From the other match, Polish-Mexican duo, Klaudia Jans-Ignacik and Santiago Gonzalez made their way straight to the final to face the Indian pair when they thrashed the World No. 5, Indo-Russian pair, Leander Paes and Elena Vesnina in the semi-final on the same day. They got a prestigious straight set victory in 7-6 (2), 6-3.
From the very beginning of the match, the duo maintained their dominance over the Indo-Russian junction and faced a weak resistance from the opponent side which resulted in an easy and smooth way to the final. With excellent collaboration in their partnership, they ended the first set with 74% share and got through both the break chances in a superb way. But failing to show the same excellence in the two break points, they ended the set in a tie-breaker and finally got 7-6 (2).
In the second set, they made no mistakes and easily completing both the break chances, finished the match with a win. In a 76 minute match, they bagged 70 points to secure their position in the final. In the final, Indian pair is obviously in a favorable position because of their excellent performance throughout the tournament but still when two champion pairs meet at the final for the much desired Grand Slam, it is quite difficult to predict. After a superb and pulsating match between Andy Murray and David Ferrer at Suzanne Lenglen court, the latter set up a match with Rafael Nadal in the semi-final at Roland Garros on Friday. Ferrer defeated the World No. 4 champion Murray on the clay court in 6-4, 6-7 (3/7), 6-3, 6-2. His outstanding talent and powerful intensity throughout the match was seriously a challenge for Murray to tackle. The loser had a number of chances to pass through the hardest hurdle but he broke serve five times and ended with 59 errors which resulted in a match out of his side.
According to him, Ferrer has always been a strong opponent for him because his maestro strokes are really powerful to handle perfectly. This is the first time for Ferrer to be in the semi-final of French Open. After lagging in the first game, Murray gave an impressive performance in the tie-breaker to level up his situation. The fifth game was also going in a balanced way of 3-3 but then Ferrer bounced back with his fabulous strokes to turn the match towards his side. Now on Friday, there is the toughest challenge waiting for Ferrer when he will play his maiden semi-final against Nadal.
In the other match of the day, Rafael Nadal smashed his Spaniard opponent Nicholas Almagro in 7-6 (7/4), 6-2, 6-3 to make one step forward towards his seventh Grand Slam championship title at Roland Garros. 2005 was the first year for Nadal in this clay court and since then this was his 50th win in this ground. He only lost one match here in 2009 against Swedish player Robin Soderling. Nadal is looking forward towards Sunday match and a win on that day will make a record in tennis world. If that happens then, he would be the first tennis veteran to win seven Grand Slam titles in French Open. Moreover, this would also be his 11th title for Grand Slam.
After this win, on this coming Friday, again two Spanish will battle to get into the final. According to past records, among all their past meetings on this clay court, the only time when Ferrer got over Nadal was in 2004 in Stuttgart. Moreover, these two tennis starts met 15 times all together and among those 15 matches, Nadal won 11 times. So, in the coming semi-final also, it is expected that Nadal will dominate the match but it can also be said that Ferrer is also not too far away from Grand Slam championship title as his consistency and highly skilled strokes smoothened his way all through this tournament. 5 Things to Consider when Purchasing Gym Banners

Congratulations, your first conference championship and now you want to display it proudly with a championship banner hanging from your gym rafters. You have started looking at different catalogs and online but aren't really sure how to get started. There are several factors that can weigh in on your purchase but here are 5 that will always need to be addressed:

1. What do you want to display? First determine what championships you would like to display. If you want to display conference championship, sectional and regional wins then you will want to consider add-a-year banners for your gym. If you would just like to display state titles or city championships then you may want to display those on individual championship banners.

2. Size. You will want to first consider the wall space that you currently have and determine if there are any limitations on the size of banner based on the number that you need. Allow for at least 6" between each banner when mounting, and remember that they don't all have to be in one row you can stack them vertically.

3. Material. There are several types of banner material and many variables to consider when purchasing add-a-year banners and championship banners.
Felt - Felt banners have been around for a very long time and give a classic look and feel to any gym. However, if you are considering add-a-year banners these are very difficult to update as typically the numbers need to be sewn on. Their heavy weight allows them to resist curling but felt banners also tend to be the most expensive.
Nylon - Nylon banners have become very popular in recent years. They combine the classic feel and look of a felt banner but can be updated with easily with a vinyl sticker. Also if you plan on hanging your banners from a rafter these banners tend to resist curling due to their heavier weight.
Vinyl - Vinyl banners are the most commonly used type of banner on the market. This is due to the fact that they are the most inexpensive and give you the most flexibility from a design perspective. Be sure to get a quote for a banner that is at least 13oz to increase the durability. This type of banner needs to be mounted to a flat surface so that you can secure all corners as vinyl can curl over time.

4. Style. Be sure to consider what you are looking for out of these banners. Take a look online at different designs so that you can be specific when calling a supplier. Do you want a rectangular or a pennant style banner? Would you like to have your logo or a sport logo on the banner? What color banner would you like? The more specific you can be the faster the process can go.

5. Quantity. Finally be sure to know approximately how many banners you are looking to purchase. Are you getting banners for all the sports or just sports with championships? The higher quantity of banners the better the price will be, so be sure to be accurate so you can get the best price possible.

Making a banner purchase can seem like a daunting task but by keeping these 5 things in mind the process should be much easier.

The focus has never been on this number. Tiger Woods always hoped to eclipse it along the way to immortality, adding it to a list of surreal accomplishments, more résumé fodder to ponder.
The poster on his bedroom wall as a kid concerned major championship hardware, specifically the outrageous standard set by Jack Nicklaus.
But getting to Nicklaus' mark of 73 PGA Tour victories is nice, too.
And to do 712 AP2 Forged Irons at Nicklaus' Memorial Tournament, with the Golden Bear himself sitting behind the 18th green watching Woods fire a shot at the flag and drain the clinching birdie putt, is about as good as it gets.
"He had to rub it in my face right here, didn't he?'' Nicklaus joked Sunday.
That's Tiger. You have to appreciate his flair for the dramatic, even if it has been lacking to a large degree over the past few years.
But there he was at Muirfield Village, charging up the leaderboard with four front-nine birdies, falling behind with a couple of bogeys, seemingly out of it with a few holes to play. Woods was all but dead when his approach went over the 16th green. Then he somehow got that chip shot to drop in for a birdie that shook the central Ohio ground.
Nicklaus called it one of the best shots he's ever seen under the circumstances, and who are we to argue?
Who could get that ball close, let alone hole it? But Woods did, setting up his second victory of the year and tying Callaway Big Bertha Diablo Iron Set at 73 wins on the PGA Tour, nine behind all-time leader Sam Snead.
"It was phenomenal,'' said caddie Joe LaCava. "And the roar was unbelievable.''
The par-3 16th was playing 201 yards over water to a back left pin made more difficult by a left-to-right wind that Nicklaus suggested was too difficult for such a position. Just four players birdied it, but Woods was the only one among the top 10 to do so.
His 8-iron approach -- an 8-iron from 200 yards, mind you -- was aimed just a bit to the right and went over the green. From there, Woods was faced with a 50-foot flop shot that he admitted he hoped to get within 8 feet of the hole to have a putt at par.
"It was just so downhill and running away from me,'' Woods said. "It just fell in. I didn't think Ping g15 Driver was going to get there at one point. Kind of like 16 at Augusta, I thought I was going to leave it short somehow, and then it fell in.''
Woods referenced the birdie chip he made during the 2005 Masters, where he aimed away from the flag, bumped the ball into a slope and saw it roll back ever so slowly into the cup.
"This was one of the hardest ones I've pulled off,'' he said. About the Author

Fantasy Trophies Are Increasing in Popularity.

We all know that if you receive a trophy, you've achieved something. Quite often the size of the trophy directly reflects the magnitude of your achievement. Sometimes, as with the Olympics, medals are presented instead of trophies.

Trophies have been in existence since ancient times. The term trophy is derived from the French word trophee, and it has been used to describe trophies since the sixteen hundreds. The Latin version of the word, trophaeum, literally means monument to victory.

In ancient rome, columns and arches would be built as trophies. Unfortunately most of these large stone memorials have already been stripped of their trophies over the years. When it came to rewarding winners of athletic or other sporting events, the Romans preferred to provide the victors money rather than trophies

Trophies go as far back as ancient Greece, where arms and battlefield gear would be hung on a tree, or put on a large stake in the earth. These ancient trophies would regularly be inscribed with the story from the battle, and would be displayed to commemorate certain warriors or soldiers. These battlefield ornaments would also sometimes be dedicated to the respective Greek gods. When naval battles occurred, wreckage of destroyed ships would be laid out on beaches as a memorial. To destroy or disturb these ancient markers was considered extremely disrespectful.

In the initial Olympic Games in ancient Greece, winners would get a laurel wreath. The wreath would be made from olive branches, just like the god Apollo was believed to wear. In later years, the winners would get a vase shaped ceramic container called an amphora. The amphora would be filled with sacred olive oil.

Some sporting trophies have a long and interesting heritage. Chalices were given as trophies as far back as the 1600s. One of the oldest trophies on record may be the Kyp Cup. This small silver cup was handed to the winner of the horse race between two New England towns in 1699. The trophy was named after the designer, Jesse Kyp, and still stands inside the Henry Ford Museum today.

These days there are some iconic trophies in a few of the most popular sports. The Stanley Cup has been around since 1893. The Davis Cup in tennis was initially awarded in 1900. The Claret Jug, that is awarded to the winner of the British Open of Golf, was first given to the winner in 1872.

Because of rise in interest in plastic trophies, trophies are much less expensive today. There are actually trophies of numerous sizes for pretty much any type of competition. Engraved Plaques also are increasingly popular. Should you need a trophy for any sporting event, take a look at http://www.quicktrophy.com. You will find there's great selection of Soccer Trophies, Golfing Trophies and Glass Trophies. We do free engraving and have a great customer support record.

Reese Hoffa- The Athlete Who Redefined Shot Putting In Olympics

Reese Hoffa is one of those Olympic athletes who need no introductions. Born on October 8th, 1977 in Evans, Georgia, he has come a long way from an orphan to an Olympian. Continue reading to find all about this renowned shot putter who is always going to be addressed as a legend in the Olympian history for the several titles he has secured over time.

Early Childhood
Reese's mother was still a teenager at 15 after giving him birth. Like any kid, he had an elder brother and a grandma who loved to make banana puddings for him. One day when Reese Hoffa was four, his brother showed him how to light a match. At first, he flamed a string dangling from one of the curtains in his room. His brother put it out at once. He did the same thing again and with his brother nowhere close to put an end to it, it was only a short while before he saw the blazing fire destroying a good part of his house in front of his eyes.

He remembered his mother hugging him and his brother. He also remembered his mother walking away and his efforts to go after her, pleading for her to stay, waiting for her to come back, something she never did. Reese and his brother were sent to an orphanage where he was soon adopted by a family living in Kentucky.

Slowly, the memories of his family faded and he started settling in. However, the fire was something he could not forget as he believed it was the fire that made him lose his family. His adoptive parents remembered him as a child who was always throwing something in the yard. He broke countless windows with his whiffle balls, imagining that he is hitting a strike zone with a baseball. Everyone knew he was mischievous. What no one knew was that he was actually a star in the making.

Career Highlights
With his jumbo-sized shot putter's body, a little short of 6 feet and a weight of 325 pounds, Reese Hoffa is nothing but a pillar of consistency as he has worked hard to land among the first five in the USA Outdoor Championships for eight years consecutively. His road to achievements started off in 1997 when he stood 5th at the National Scholastics. Since then, there is no stopping him.

At the 2003 World Outdoor Championships, to his great disappointment he did not own even one of the ten throws in the world in either indoor or outdoor competition. In 2006, he was the World Indoor gold medalist and can pride himself on being a silver medalist for World Indoor two times. He made an impressive come back in 2007 when he crossed the 70-foot mark ten times, easily breaking C. J. Hunter's shot putting record in 2003, earning him the title of the World Outdoor Gold Medalist.

In 2008, he won the title for the Olympics Trial Champion with a throw of 22.10 meters. In 2009, with his heart set to achieve his goals, critics claimed that five out of the six throws he took could have gotten him a gold medal in Olympics.

With the countdown going for the London 2012 Olympic Games this year, it is the only thing going on the 34-year old's mind as he knows it is his last big shot. He has already appeared for the Olympics twice but never medaled and while he accepts the value that his other titles have, being an Olympic medalist has its own charm.

In London, he won't be paying any attention to the huge crowd cheering him up or the big stage. When he will step into the ring, his only aim will be to make his name history by winning the prestigious Olympic accolade.

If you want to witness this remarkable Olympian showcasing his proficiency at shot putting, get your athletics tickets today from the ultimate ticket provider http://www.liveolympictickets.com/sports/athletics-tickets/ .

The 2012 London Olympics Countdown Polls

London is hosting this year's Summer Olympic Games. The capital city of England is gathering a very big crowd from July 27 to September 9 this year. While waiting for the games to start, online polling sites has already been conducting sport polls to learn about the viewpoints of people about issues concerning the upcoming international occasion.
Sport Polls Left and Right
One hundred days before the London Olympics, BBC released a new poll showing that 67% of the British people think the Olympics costs too much. In fact, London is spending 24 Billion Euros to back the event. The cost was originally estimated at 2B Euros only.
The BBC survey involved more than 2000 adults and was carried out by ComRes. Culture, Olympics, Media and Sport secretary of Britain Jeremy Hunt thinks that the results would be different if the poll was done after the Olympic Games. He said "it's like asking someone if they've spend too much on their Christmas dinner after the big Christmas shop, but before Christmas Day".
In another sport poll by YouGov, it is claiming that British people think that the Olympic Games will be generally good for London. Further results of the sports poll show that 48 % of Londoners admit they are interested in the Games (49% say they are not).
The Telegraph conducted an online sports poll to know if people are excited by the prospect of the Olympics. The leading answer was "I'll never be excited by the Games in London…" which was chosen by 48% of the respondents. News reports have it that athletes like Andy Najar, Heather Fell and Maria Sharapova are thrilled by the prospect of the event.
In January, Crunchy Roll released a sports poll that seeks to name singers who should perform during the opening ceremony of the Olympics. The top choices include Hatsune Miku, Super Junior, Big Bang, Shinee, One Direction, Girls' Generation, Lady Gaga, McFly, Justine Bieber and Rammstein. Another site Gok Pop also threw the same question and Super Junior and Big Bang were identified as the top choices of their respondents.
A Survey of Gold Medal Winners
Every athlete flying to London for the Olympics is definitely targeting to bring home at least one medal. A grand "hero's welcome" in their home country awaits those who win during the Olympics.
According to the medal tally of the olympic.it website, the United States has the most gold medals and has the highest number of medals won. The powerhouse has 1,018 gold medals in all. Combined with silver and bronze medals, the US has a total of 2, 552 medals.
USSR, which is second with 1204 medals, has 473 gold medals, 376 silver medals, 355 bronze medals. Germany in the third spot, with 718 medals, has 232 gold medals, 235 silver medals and 251 bronze medals.
A game poll on the NBC Olympics site poses a question "which country will win the 2012 medal race?". The choices are "United States", "China" and "Russia". Actually, the correct answer to the poll will be known after the Olympics.
Out of the 204 participating countries, 80 have not yet won an Olympic medal. The Olympic Summer Games in London includes 302 medal events across 32 sport categories.

One of the most anticipated participants of the London Olympic Games is American swimmer Michael Phelps. The swimmer won 16 Olympic medals in all (eight during the Athens Olympics and another eight during the Beijing Olympics). PollPursuit (www.apps.facebook.com/pollpursuit), a fun polling app on Facebook, wonders if Phelps will win eight medals again this year.

France Vs England Euro 2012 Match Highlights

France will face a tough opening game against England on Monday in their Group D match at Donbass Arena, Donetsk - the city of Ukraine. France has been exceptional in their latest matches, which will help them to start with passion in the group matches. They last hold on Euro championship in year 2000.

France exhibited a world rank of 14 and has formed many great attacking players along the years, Nasri, Ribery and Benzema are the strongest players that can give tough time to any good side. Loic Remy is out of competition due to a hip injury.

Probable France line-up for match includes: Hugo Lloris; Mathieu Debuchy, Adil Rami, Philippe Mexès, Patrice Evra; Yohan Cabaye, Alou Diarra, Florent Malouda; Samir Nasri, Karim Benzema, Franck Ribéry.

The England encloses 6 as their world ranking; however, they are diminished by the absence of their most important players like Lampard, Cahill, Barry and Ruddy, due to injuries. The biggest set back for England is their best player Rooney banned for two games, which includes this group match too. The England team projected line-up including: Joe Hart, Phil Jones, John Terry, Joleon Lescott, Leighton Baines, Scott Parker, Theo Walcott, Steven Gerrard, Ashley Young, Andy Carroll, Danny Welbeck.

These two are the toughest teams in this group. The results are favoring France as England has been physically weak facing major injuries they held up recently, while France looks relatively stronger.

England and France go into the Group D opener on June 11th. Things don't look so good for Roy Hodgsons's men as England has successively lost the five last games against Les Blues. And to worsen the matters France will come into the field after the thrashing Estonia 4-0 and with the daunting feats of the players like Benzema and Frank Ribery. This will definitely change Laurent Blanc's unbeaten streak record.

Looking at the present situation, it seems that England won't stand a chance in this group but you can never be so sure about football, especially when you're talking about international football. Nevertheless the bad luck for the team is that Gary Cahil (jaw), Gareth Barry (stomach), Frank Lampard (thigh) and John Ruddy (finger) are all out of the tournament. But the good news for the coach is that Chelsea's centre-back John Terry was declared fit for the Euro Cup who was a main injury concern for Roy Hodgson.

On the other hand, France has only one injury to worry about and that is the striker Loic Remy; who is suffering from a hip injury. With him, Mapou Yanga-Mibwa and Yoann Gourcuff were also shortlisted from the squad. But whatever the reasons, you can never predict so well in football.

McIlroy Tuning Up for U.S. Open Defense

Rory McIlroy tends not to play a tournament the week before a major. Then again, he tends not to miss three straight cuts.
With his game in need of a tune up, McIlroy added the St. Jude Classic to his schedule to play a few more competitive rounds before the U.S. Open. He is among 29 players in Memphis getting ready for the Open by competing, even though no one has won a TaylorMade RocketBallZ RBZ Combo Set and then the U.S. Open the following week.
"I feel like that's just what I need... especially going into next week," McIlroy said Wednesday after his pro-am practice round. "But I mean I would love to play well here and obviously try and win the tournament, and that would give me a great confidence boost going into next week."
McIlroy won The Honda Classic in March and lost in a playoff at Quail Hollow that returned him to No. 1 in the world. Then, he missed the cut in The Players Championship, the BMW PGA Championship in England and the Memorial. He hadn't missed three consecutive cuts since August 2008 when he was ranked No. 164 in the world.
After missing the cut last week at Memorial, McIlroy flew to San Francisco and spent four days at Olympic trying both to learn the course and find the form that helped him run away in winning the U.S. Open at Congressional a year ago. McIlroy called it a very productive time with his coach, Michael Bannon, learning the course and preparing for the Open.
"Even though it wasn't the way I wanted to spend the weekend, I still felt like I got a lot out of Callaway Razr X Combo Set," McIlroy said.
This will be McIlroy's fourth straight tournament, and he has made the cut in five of his seven PGA Tour events this year, including four top three finishes. McIlroy showed Wednesday he hits the ball very well at times with three birdies and an eagle on the par-5 No. 16. Then he gave a glimpse of his struggles by hitting into the water on No. 18 for a double bogey.
"The most important thing is that you see encouragement and you see glimpses of the great golf that you can play, the likes of the 16th hole today or the other holes I made good birdies and hit shots," McIlroy said. "It's just about eliminating the bad ones, and that's just a matter of I think playing more golf and becoming more confident with what you're trying to do."
The TPC Southwind course is nothing like The Olympic Club, though this course has played much tougher since changes cut par to 70 here in 2007. This course ranked as the PGA Tour's ninth-hardest in 2011.
The field features Harrison Frazar defending his lone career win Ping G20 Combo Set along with Ryder Cup captain Davis Love III, David Toms - a two-time champ here - and former champ Justin Leonard. Ryo Ishikawa of Japan and Dustin Johnson also are making their first start at this event.
Zach Johnson, who won the Crowne Plaza Invitational two weeks ago at Fort Worth, said people ask him often why he plays in Memphis when he could be prepping for the U.S. Open. He said he's drawn by sponsor FedEx to an event that benefits St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
He didn't get a chance to visit Olympic, but Johnson said he prefers competing the week before a major.
"It requires everything," Johnson said. "It's firm, fast usually with firm greens, and as a result, you've got to shape shots and hit quality shots. Going into a U.S. Open where you have to have all aspects of your game on... this tournament certainly gets you into that sort of competitive state."
Heavy rains Monday helped soften both the Titleist Scotty Cameron Buttonback Putter and the Champion Bermuda greens at the 7,239-yard course. But clear skies and winds are expected to dry most of the course out before Thursday's opening round.
Frazar is back defending a title that was his first in his 355th start and came at a point where his aching left hip and family demands had him thinking retirement. He has made the cut in seven of his 13 events this year with two top fives.
"Right now I happen to be in a little bit of a phase where I'm not feeling my best, but it's certainly manageable with some therapy and some soft tissue stuff," Frazar said. "I'm doing the best I can. I'm not 25 anymore, and my body's just taken a beating. I need to do a better job of taking care of it."
For Robert Karlsson of Sweden, this event is more important than the U.S. Open because it's this week's tournament.
"If it's a pretty tough test, it's even better," Karlsson said. "This week is probably not as good for Olympic Club because it's completely different conditions. You have Bermuda grass here. You won't have that over there. We're going to have hot conditions here, even though the weather forecast looks nicer than normal. But it's just mentally as I said to keep playing ping g20 driver and hopefully if you can play well as well, it boosts the confidence a bit."
Then again, Karlsson has finished second here each of the past two years, losing to Lee Westwood in a playoff in 2010 and to Frazar on a third extra hole last year.
"Nobody has beaten me over 144 holes still. It's those extra ones," Karlsson said with a smile. About the Author

Chelsea beat Spurs 5-1 in FA Cup semi-final

Goals by Didier Drogba and Juan Mata either side of halftime put Chelsea in command before Gareth Bale replied for Spurs but Ramires, Frank Lampard and Florent Malouda struck again for the Blues who will meet Liverpool in the final next month.
Mata's strike in the 49th minute proved a major turning point as his shot appeared to have been blocked before the line only for referee Martin Atkinson to award a goal.
In the end the decision did not prove decisive as Chelsea ran riot to give themselves a huge boost before hosting Barcelona in the Champions League semi-finals on Wednesday.
The only negatives were a hamstring injury to central defender David Luiz who went off on a stretcher and disrespectful chanting by some Chelsea fans which forced a pre-match silence to mark the anniversary of the Hillsborough tragedy to be cut short.
"It was a great performance by our team. I think that it's a boost of confidence for us," stand-in manager Roberto Di Matteo told reporters after admitting his side had enjoyed a slice of fortune along the way.
"In this case we were on the lucky side but many times before we have had the game going against us. But we didn't score two we scored five."
Unstoppable shot
Chelsea, bidding to win the FA Cup for a sixth time and the fourth time since 2007, took the lead against the run of play.
Spurs had just began to enjoy some dominance when, in the 43rd minute, Drogba controlled Lampard's lofted forward pass, held off William Gallas and turned to thrash an unstoppable shot past Carlo Cudicini, one of three former Chelsea players wearing Spurs shirts.maillot de foot
It was Drogba's seventh goal in nine appearances at Wembley and knocked the stuffing out of Tottenham who had gone closest to taking the lead.
John Terry, back from a rib injury, blocked Rafael Van der Vaart's goalbound header on the line and then Van der Vaart's inswinging pass evaded Spurs striker Emmanuel Adebayor and Chelsea keeper Petr Cech but bounced off the post.
Tottenham began the second half groggily and Mata could have made it 2-0 with a low shot brilliantly saved by Cudicini.
Chelsea did not have to wait long to double their lead.
Cudicini again made a great save to deny Drogba and when the ball broke to Mata he fired goalwards. The ball appeared to be blocked by the keeper and Terry who was prone on the turf.
To the astonishment of Cudicini, the Spurs players and even Terry, the referee Martin Atkinson awarded the goal.

Girl players have mastered the art of freestyling, which requires skillful moves while juggling the ball with the limbs, torso and head. Top freestylers, including Indi Cowie of North Carolina and Laura Biondo of Italy, do the same tricks as male counterparts such as England's John Farnworth and have placed well at competitions.
Approach
Cowie met Farnworth when she was 11 while attending a Brazilian soccer school. Inspired by his moves, she began teaching herself freestyle. She allows several weeks to learn a really difficult trick and a couple of days for a simpler trick. She advises being dedicated to your soccer tricks, working hard and avoiding discouragement until the wondrous moment when you succeed at a trick. "When you actually get it, it's just the most amazing feeling ever," she told "The New York Times."
Juggling
The foundation of freestyle is juggling mixed with stalls. Juggling entails gently popping the ball in the air with the top of your foot or your heel, thigh, head, shoulder or chest. Bondo even uses the side of her ankle, while Cowie uses her shins and the soles of her shoes. Cowie lies on her back and does sole juggles, spinning the ball in the air on the soles of her feet as she appears to run upside down and letting the ball drop for a knee catch and then drop further for an ankle trap.
Biondo's Stalls
Stalls entail allowing the ball to rest in place on anywhere from the top of your head to the sole of your foot. Common stalls involve the top of the foot, the back of the neck, the chest and shoulder. Biondo does a foot stall on her ankle while lying on her side on the ground. She also performs stalls that involve brief pauses of the ball on the back of her neck before rolling it and stalling it again on her head, chest and shoulder. She also goes from a head stall in a standing position to kneeling and lying on her back, the ball remaining neatly perched on the crown of her head.
Cowie's Stalls
Cowie stalls the ball on the side of her head with her torso bent sideways, then stands up straight until the ball Nike Mercurial Vapor Superfly is on top of her head. She also stalls the ball on her shins while sitting or lying on the ground. Her signature move is the standing sole stall, as she stands with her knee bent and the ball balanced on the sole of her foot. The pair also shot a video showing Cowie using one soccer ball to hit another ball in a neck stall on a prone Biondo. About the Author

Damien Comolli with Liverpool Jersey is mainly responsible for the player's introduction

According to Liverpool's official website and fen Wei sports confirmed that the Club have reached an agreement with team Director of football Damien Comolli, who was relieved of his duties and to leave Liverpool. Since I assumed office in November 2010, Damien Comolli with Liverpool Jersey is mainly responsible for the player's introduction, Liverpool were 3 transfers bars charge of about 125 million pounds spent introducing Soares, Carol and Twining, Charlie Adam, Henderson and others, but the results have no signs of the Red Army. Although won the League Cup, but in the more important League, Liverpool 33 round after only 46 points, was not only the top of Manchester United fell by 33 points from seats on the Champions League also has 13 points difference. Team to do poorly, someone out of scapegoat this time Molly unfortunately the scapegoat. Their departure, Damien Comolli, Liverpool website said: "I am grateful to Liverpool for work opportunity, for family reasons, I will be leaving Liverpool return to France, and I hope the Club will have a bright future. "Liverpool boss Henry Damien Comolli has expressed their wishes:" everything I represent Liverpool thanks to Damien Comolli has done for the Club, I hope he has a golden future. "
Teams in the transfer market failure is the main cause of Damien Comolli to leave, since he assumed office, Liverpool spent a total of 125 million pounds for foreign aid, but high prices and buy Carol, Twining, Henderson, who always fail to integrate into the team, Liverpool's record a hit naturally. For the departure of Damien Comolli, Club President Warner with Liverpool Soccer Shirts explained in an interview with Liverpool's official website said: "the team's policy itself is, but the performance wasn't working very well. We need to build a strong team, the team has been working to transfer target selection, want to transfer pick-up for next season. Damien Comolli's departure also means that coach Daglish handsome no worries for the time being. Liverpool team 3:2 adventure in the upper whorl League against Blackburn, which ushered in a long lost victory, you know, this first 8 games of the Red Army but lost in 6 games, has also been on the points list with the sworn enemies of the city Everton fanchao, which is unacceptable to the Liverpool fans, coach Daglish suffering an unprecedented crisis of confidence. However senior club now also does not mean "King" abdication, when Warner President in an interview with Liverpool's official website expressing support for the Daglish: "we have confidence in Kenny, we believe teams are making great strides into the future, Daglish like we give him its full support. Of course, Daglish security is only temporary, if still no improvement in Liverpool in the next game, even if the "King" in Liverpool with a high prestige, class is inevitable. United States team boss Henry management practices was quick to "first knife" to the Director Damien Comolli with New Liverpool Jersey, which to a certain extent imply Daglish: you could be next. According to the daily mail revealed that former Barca Godfather Cruyff, and Netherlands shuaifanjiaer entered the Liverpool senior line of sight. Cruyff's influence in international football since Needless to say, Liverpool hope the legendary players for the Red Army to create their own "Rama West youth camp", but would like to convince the Cruyff to Premiership try is not easy. Louis van Gaal after Bayern Munich coaching was not a success, but the Netherlands who has a good track record, in training young people has also done, these are the favored access to Liverpool. That is, once dismissed Daglish, Liverpool also is not without its subsequent preparation.
If the King "abdication", personnel changes within the Liverpool with Liverpool Football Shirts is likely to render the "snowball" trend, has suffered criticism of "parallel imports" Carroll, and Twining, Henderson, who in the future will also be playing the last question mark. According to the daily mail revealed that even the most successful foreign aid Soares, the Daglish trends to determine their next step. Because whirlpool mired in racial discrimination, Soares in the Premiership has become public enemies, if not dagelishili, he is expected to stay down for a long time. Once the Daglish leaves office, then lose the backing of Soares is also likely to leave, balishengrierman, and AC Milan, Inter Milan, Rome, Florence, was keen to get him. Holding a Carling Cup champions in hand, if we can redouble our efforts to win the FA Cup, maybe will add to Daglish, to remain a certain weight. Liverpool will usher in this weekend to Everton in the FA Cup semi-finals, Daglish and his team, this game should not be lost. As in was sent off in the match with Blackburn, Liverpool goalkeeper Steven Donne will sit along with Reina, second grandstand on, his appeal was dismissed by the FA, it means that the third goalkeeper of team Bradley-Jones will be crucial in the field of moxisaidebizhong is guarded by Dragon of the Red Army.

Don?EUR(TM)t count out Hamilton

Since when did covering the international golf scene turn into something more like an assignment for Teen Beat magazine?

This week alone, 18-year-old Paula Creamer earned her sixth top 10 of the season, 17-year-old Morgan Pressel petitioned the LPGA Tour to drop its age minimum just for her and 15-year-old Michelle Wie came within two strokes of making us rename this column the Wie-kly 18.

All of which makes 22-year-old John Deere Classic winner Sean O'Hair seem like a grizzled veteran.

But the Weekly 18 starts with defending British Open champion Todd Hamilton, a guy who left his youth long ago but may still have his best golf -- believe it or not -- ahead of him.

1. Todd almighty
He earned an exemption into last year's third major just before the event began. He played solid, mistake-free golf for four rounds and then went toe-to-toe with Ernie Els in a playoff and won.

And yet, is there a less heralded Open champion in recent memory than Hamilton?

Think about it: Ben Curtis was the guy who came out of nowhere, Paul Lawrie reaped the benefit of Jean Van de Velde's folly and Ian Baker-Finch was an up-and-comer when he grabbed the Claret Jug. But Hamilton simply scooped up his first major title and then took the large silver cup back home to Texas, showed it to some friends and kept going about his usual business.

So it goes without saying that if you're searching for a dark horse to sneak up on the world's elite and contend at St. Andrews, look no further than … Todd Hamilton.

While 30 of the world's top 32 players eschewed the PGA Tour this week (only No. 10 David Toms and No. 16 Stewart Cink competed), most in favor of honing their game in Scotland, the 44th-ranked Hamilton was busy toiling away near his boyhood home in Silvis, Ill., finishing T-13 at the John Deere. It's the same winning strategy that he used last year, when a T-59 at the pre-British event gave no clue that Hamilton was on the verge of something major.

Here are some other numbers that aren't exactly screaming back-to-back British Open champion: In 20 events on tour this season, Hamilton has reached the weekend 14 times but owns only four top 25s and, astonishingly, no top 10s. In fact, his T-13 at the John Deere was his top finish so far this season.

Still, don't count him out. While you'll hear plenty about prohibitive favorite Tiger Woods, fan favorite Phil Mickelson and fate favorite Els this week, Hamilton's still the champ until somebody knocks him off. Besides, we kind of think he likes being the dark horse. It's worked for him before and just might again this week.

2. Master Michelle?
Are you sick of the ongoing Wie media coverage that's been evident throughout the past week? You ain't seen nothing yet. Maybe. That's because Wie is competing this week in the U.S. Men's Amateur Public Links championship. A win in the 154-player field traditionally earns an exemption into the next year's Masters Tournament. What in the name of Martha Burk will Hootie and the boys down in Augusta do if this possibility becomes reality? You've got to think they'd embrace the young superstar for earning her way into the major rather than risk a PR nightmare by failing to issue an invitation.

3. Teen dreams
Outgoing LPGA Tour commisioner Ty Votaw finds himself in a precarious predicament these days. One of several talented amateur teens in women's game, Pressel petitioned the tour this week to allow her to join prior to her 18th birthday, which is the current age minimum. There's no reason Pressel won't be granted this exemption -- after all, two years ago Aree Song was given a similar dispensation as a 17-year-old and Pressel has shown equal or better poise both on and off the course. The next question is, when does the cycle stop? Some recent reports have said Wie will turn pro after her 16th birthday this October. She's obviously shown she is capable of competing on tour and would surely be a boost to its marketing appeal. But how about Carmen Bandea, the 15-year-old wunderkind golfer and tennis player who like Pressel has already issued a petition of her own? Or the next up-and-coming 12-year-old who decides to make a go of it on the professional circuit? It will be interesting to see if the tour continues to see these issues on a case-by-case basis. Its other options are simply to adhere to the current age requirement (which would mean Wie could not be a full-time member until 2008) or abolish it altogether, paving the way for all teens to compete on tour.

4. Pressing on
Speaking of Pressel, she sounds wise beyond her years and makes a terrific case for why she should be allowed to play full-time on tour. "People go to college to figure out what they want to do and get a decent job," she told Trey Wingo on SportsCenter this past Saturday. "I can get a great job right now, right out here because this is what I want to do with my life." Perhaps if prep superstars like Greg Oden and O.J. Mayo made similar claims to NBA commish David Stern, they would be able to petition that league's recent age requirement, too.

5. Happy birthday to me
We're guessing it will be a pretty happy birthday for O'Hair on Monday. He'll wake up as the owner of more than $1.7 million on tour so far this year, the leading contender in the race for rookie of the year and, perhaps most importantly, has secure employment through the 2007 season. His win at the John Deere comes less than two months after losing at the Byron Nelson by one stroke. How did he do it? By finishing third in driving distance, T-7 in driving accuracy and T-2 in greens in regulation. He also made only three bogeys in four rounds (and nothing worse than bogey all week) and eight birdies, 16 pars and no bogeys in his final 24 holes.
http://www.preciousgolf.com/
6. Hank's bankroll
We've said it before and we'll say it again: If anyone can figure out Hank Kuehne, call us. Please. One of the longest bombers on tour, Kuehne's game looked like it was rounding into form during the '04 season, as he finished 99th on the money list and kept his card for the second straight year. Then the calendar changed and, well, it seemed Kuehne's game changed with it. Entering the John Deere, he had entered 20 events, missing the cut in 12 and withdrawing from two others. His highest finish was a T-21 in New Orleans and he ranked a dismal 180th on the money list. That's when he came to the TPC at http://www.golfzonejp.com/ Deere Run and seemingly found his game again. Kuehne's T-2 finish was enough to garner $352,000 -- or roughly $213,000 more than he made in his previous 20 starts. With just one more top 10 finish he'll just about be able to secure a card for '06, too.

Do You Like the Hot Metal Mizuno JPX 800 Irons and JPX-800 Driver

Classic chrome and satin finish that the Mizuno irons are known for. The badge is silver with blue trim. Not to outrageous as some of the irons in the market today. Quality is top notch. The set came with matching serial numbers and the Mizuno M-21 grips.

The JPX-800 Irons have a thick top line. That doesn't bother me. The hitting area frames well at address. The bottom flanges can be seen in the 4, 5 and 6 irons at address.

The finish of the iron heads held up well through 3 full rounds of golf and some range sessions.
This is not a forged Mizuno set. If you are looking for that sweet forged feel, it's not here. The JPX-800s feel different. It doesn't feel like a run of the mill GI iron set either. The JPX-800s have a "pseudo-forged" feel on well struck shots. But the Max-COR lively face makes it hard to differentiate from off-center hits. A really bad miss (thin shot, off the heel or toe, etc.) can still be felt though.

Mizuno JPX 800 Irons Features:

4-7 irons utilize MAX COR construction which delivers the highest allowable COR and low deep Center of Gravity for amazing distance and forgiveness.
8-PW utilize deep pocket cavity design for maximum forgiveness and increased accuracy.
GW & SW utilize a solid power bar design for greater control and pinpoint accuracy.
A multi-level, multi-thickness exotic pocket cavity™ (4 - 7 iron) creates the largest MOI for the most forgiving iron in MIZUNO's award-winning line-up.
Massive external Power Bar design expands and extends the sweet area for maximum forgiveness across the face.
Multi-material badge to enhance feel and deliver aggressive styling.
Aggressive Triple Cut sole for consistent forgiveness from all types of lies and playing conditions.
Durable double nickel chrome plated finish.
Modified U-grooves, which conform to the Condition of Competition 2010, produce the ideal spin rate for maximum playability in all conditions.

Pros:
Easy to hit. Long distance. Versatile from any lie. Long distance. Clean looking design. Can I say distance again.
Cons:
No 3 iron. 8, 9 and PW can get a little "jumpy". Lacks that Mizuno forged feel.

The new cheap golf clubs Mizuno JPX-800 driver utilizes Mizuno's new Ultimate Dynamic Stability (U.D.S.) technology for explosive distance from anywhere on the face. U.D.S. unites a forged Titanium 'Hot Metal' face, ultra-thin crown and a strategic internal weighting system to greatly increase vertical and horizontal MOI. The result: maximum ball speeds and massive distance, even outside of the sweet area.

The new Mizuno JPX-800 driver unites a forged titanium "hot metal" face with an ultra-thin crown for explosive distance. The Mizuno JPX-800 driver provides an extremely solid feel at impact and will help you hit the ball longer and straighter than ever.

Low Handicap
The Mizuno JPX 800 tied for third place with a strong showing across the board. All the categories were within a tenth of each other.

High Handicap
The Mizuno driver also made the cut with the high handicap golfers. They liked the look and sound of the club but gave it low marks for feel. Consistency and distance were tied in the middle of the driver's results.

Key Features Mixuno JPX-800 driver:

Hot Metal: Multi-thickness clubface for consistently high ball speeds and explosive distance.
Ultimate Dynamic Stability (U.D.S): Consistent ball speeds from both vertical and horizontal miss-hits for maximum performance all over the face.
Forged 460cc Ti Construction: 6-piece construction utilizing plasma welding for exact Center of Gravity (COG) control.
Internal 10g back weight: Provides greater vertical Moment of Inertia (MOI) and increased Center of Gravity (COG) depth to deliver amazing forgiveness.
Internal 5g heel weight: helps square the face through impact for a high, straight ball flight.
