Stirling rally overturns Tynecastle’s advantage

EAST OF SCOTLAND: Stirling University came from two goals down to beat Tynecastle 3-2 in their Central Taxis Premier Division clash.

Gretna 2008 kept the pressure on leaders Spartans, who did not have a game, when they beat Edinburgh University 2-1.

Whitehill Welfare beat Civil Service Strollers 2-0, while in a relegation battle Leith Athletic beat Selkirk 1-0. Vale of Leithen defeated Edinburgh City 3-2.

In the First Division, leaders Preston Athletic were held to a goal-less draw by Peebles Rovers. Second-placed Heriot Watt University defeated Gala Fairydean 2-1, while Kelso United beat Eyemouth United 2-1.

Hawick Royal Albert won only their second game of the season with a 2-1 win over Easthouses Lily. Duns beat Coldstream 2-1, and Ormiston were 1-0 victors over Berwick Rangers Reserves.

In the SFA South Region Challenge Cup, Glasgow University won 2-1, after extra-time, against Lothian Thistle.
