In their quarter final match against Australian- Argentinean tandem Oliver Marach and Horacio Zeballos, they got a three set win in the clay court of Roland Garros. They registered a 6-1, 4-6, 6-4 win against their opponent and maintained their rocking performance in the Grand Slam events.
To outsmart their opponent Bob and Mike Bryan displayed their fabulous co-ordination and excellent skill. In the same ground, they won their maiden championship title in 2003 and are presently 11-9 in title rounds of Grand Slam. They ended the game in just 1 hour and 42 minutes with consecutive five opening games in their favor. After that the opponent bounced back and ended a set with 6-4. At that time, the match was lingering in a marginal space when the American twins managed to get a 3-0 lead and finally turned the game in their favor by bagging four winning games among six. Now they are to face Pakistan-Netherland duo Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi and Jean-Julien Rojer who have also made their way into the semi-final by defeating Serbian-French pair Nenad Zimonjic and Michael Llodra.
In the match between Pakistan-Netherland duo and Serbian-French pair, Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi and Jean-Julien Rojer made a 6-4, 2-1 retirement victory against their opponent. They were leading the game in 2-1 when the French partner of their opponent, Llodra suffered a severe back injury and decided to end the match. Qureshi is the first tennis star from Pakistan who is just a few steps away from two international tennis flavors- Grand Slam and Olympic. Being in the 16th position in world ranking, this Grand Slam title will pull Qureshi in top ten. He along with his partner Rojer gave a striking performance in the first game with 2-0 lead and then maintained their partnership till the end of first set in 6-4. In the second set also, they were in 2-1 but suddenly Llodra's injury compelled them to quit the game after third game and empowered their position in the semi-final.
Now their meeting with Bryan brothers will be the most exciting part of this tournament. Earlier at Mutua Madrid Open, Bryan brothers were defeated by Qureshi-Rojer pair but at Open de Nice Côte d'Azur, the result was just the opposite. So, although being in a favorable position, the Bryan brothers know that the semi-final will be a challenging match for both the side. About the Author
