Tennis, the Game of Spirit

To be successful in anything in this world a person requires an extremely strong will towards his or her goal. A person is needed to be determined in order to achieve what he always wanted to achieve. Same is the case in sports, especially in the game of tennis as tennis is a sport of an individual so it does requires a good level of devotion to be just even a player. In other sports there are usually teams, like in cricket and football, in which if one person is not devoted enough then there would some other player who would be strong enough to follow the simple thing, 'try and try till you succeed'. But in tennis you are mostly alone, no one to compensate your efforts and most of the times it is a one man show so the whole game depends on individual players. So, if you think you have the amount of spirit required to be a player of tennis then only you can manage to be a part of the game otherwise you will end no where in tennis.

While watching tennis livescore we witness the changes in it, we get excited when the tennis livescore ends in the favor of our favorite star of tennis and we feel like having the similar feeling by playing tennis. The stars of tennis which we see on our televisions come on the ground in front of the audience, give everyone a good show by showing their talents in tennis and return to their resting place. We take this all as a game but what we do not know is the hard work of the star which he does daily to win and to cheer up the viewers. They give heir blood, their sweat and their precious time to this tough game of tennis and believe it that tennis truly requires lot of these things.

All these stars practice day and night because they have a crazy passion for this game, they have the fire to make the fans believe that they are really amongst the best and they have an incomparable spirit to compete in front of the whole world. Without all these daily efforts and such courageous qualities no one can be a player of tennis. If you are one of the beginners then before increasing your involvement in this game make sure that you have already prepared yourself to bear a tough time. If you are playing tennis for some time and wishes to be a good player then start giving a chunk of time to this game because it requires the time a lot. More time means that you will put more effort and putting more effort means that you will get more tired. This game gives headaches, stress and pain but also assures that after suffering through all this you will be standing somewhere in tennis from where people will be seeing you and would be saying 'now that is a tennis player'!

Jessica Jane is the marketing manager of Scores Pro a best place for tennis livescore of any sports especially livescore, cricket livescore and football liverscore online.

To play golf well you need do exercises

Nearly every course you visit will have some form of a driving range. The golf equipment is also do. A new club you should have a try and keep in company with your golf, until you know it well. Thus it can be your helpful assistant.

Play golf well, you need a long time to do experiments. Once upon, Callaway Razr Hawk Driver is fellow me a different times when I am a beginner.

You want to work your way up through your bag to your driver. One of the best ways to do this is to choose a wedge to start, then one of your shorter irons, then a longer iron, finally a three wood, then your driver. The sole and crown of the Razr Hawk Driver contains more than 23 million turbostratic carbon fibers that reinforce 67% of the clubhead. This allowed engineers to precisely control thickness like never before, resulting in a clubhead that's lighter, stronger than titanium but still has an extremely high moment of inertia. The lighter clubhead enables a longer club configuration for faster head speed, ball speed and greater distance without compromising forgiveness.

The RAZR Hawk Driver has streamlined surface contours to reduce energy loss from drag during the downswing by 43% compared to the FT-9 Driver. This creates higher impact speeds for added distance.

Different sizes are also offered to improve your ability on the greens. A thicker grip helps take your hands and wrists out of the stroke, which is what golfers seek to do to improve their putting. The drawback of a thicker grip is that you wont get the feel of a thinner grip and if you are feel putter or have a stroke that involves a lot of wrist action, then you are more suited to a thin grip.

A chemical milling process in the Razr Hawk Driver

selectively removes excess material for precision thickness control across the face to produce consistently high ball speeds

Besides, RAZR Hawk is made with Forged Composite, a super-lightweight material Callaway developed in conjunction with Lamborghini, which are the players who simply want to crush the ball, and those who are willing to give up a few yards if they can shape their shots for the distance.

That is a crossroads which are most golfers spend no shortage of time at the driving range to success way. Change your opinions now. AP2 712 Irons and AP1 712 Irons are long times clubs, you may likethem. Take actions, do exercise!

Nick Colgan says belief will see Hibs through

By DAVID HARDIE
Published on Thursday 22 March 2012 12:00

No matter what angle you look at it from, Hibs’ home record over the past year and more has been simply abysmal, a primary reason why the Easter Road club today find themselves locked in a desperate battle with Dunfermline to avoid relegation from the SPL.

Since goals from Callum Booth and Lewis Stevenson downed Inverness Caley 13 months ago, the Edinburgh club have managed just one league win in the Capital, a narrow 3-2 victory over St Johnstone.

One solitary triumph in 20 attempts on their own turf, 11 of which ended in defeat or, to put it another way, a measly 11 points taken from a possible 60 in a run which has seen Hibs concede an average of two goals with just one scored. Little wonder, then, that Pat Fenlon has conceded Easter Road is far from the fortress it once used to be although the Hibs boss could probably be accused of stating the obvious. Far from the days when a record of just two defeats in 19 matches made a visit to the Leith ground a daunting prospect for any side.

Indeed, in season 2000-2001 only Celtic could boast fewer defeats at home than Alex McLeish’s side, leaving Nick Colgan, Hibs goalkeeper at the time, to recall: “I’m not one to say ‘back in my day’, but we got off to a cracking start,

“We drew against Hearts at Tynecastle on the opening day and then went on to beat the two Dundee teams at home. Winning breeds confidence, momentum is a great thing. You go into games knowing you’d create chances and score goals while safe in the knowledge there’s a good spine to the team.

“We had a pretty good squad, you were confident in the players around you and you were optimistic going into every game, you looked forward to each match.” Hibs, in fact, lost just once in their opening 14 matches of that season and while some might argue that with the likes of Franck Sauzee, Russell Latapy, Mixu Paatelainen, David Zitelli and John O’Neil, McLeish’s squad was far ahead of that Fenlon enjoys, Colgan would argue the Old Firm were probably stronger back then as well, Celtic enjoying the services of Henrik Larsson, Chris Sutton, Lubo Moravcik, Stilian Petrov and so on while Rangers had such as Tugay, Barry Ferguson, Jorge Albertz, Claudio Reyna and Peter Lovenkrands.

However, regardless of who is pulling on the shirt, Colgan, pictured right, insisted a solid home record was the key to whatever success a team may enjoy, pointing out the fact that despite winning just once at Easter Road, Hibs’ four-point advantage over the Pars – who have yet to taste victory at East End Park this season - is down in large part to that triumph over St Johnstone back in September. But having visited his old stomping ground to witness Celtic’s recent 5-0 romp over Fenlon’s side, Republic of Ireland internationalist Colgan, pictured below, admitted he could sense an apprehension shared by players and fans alike, an experience he’s suffered himself in the past.

He said: “I went through a similar thing with Grimsby when we went 25 games without a win, the worst run in years for the club. It’s a horrible thing.

“I thought Hibs held their own against Celtic for 20 minutes and later Lewis Stevenson had a great chance when he tried to lob Fraser Foster which would have put them right back in the game but after that they looked as if they had resigned themselves to losing.

“But Hibs aren’t going to stay up thanks to the matches against Celtic and Rangers, it’s the games with the likes of Dunfermline, Inverness, St Mirren that matter more.”

Hibs current plight, though, has put everyone, players and fans alike, on edge, Colgan believing they are in a “Catch-22” situation with supporters desperately seeking something to cheer and those on the field equally anxious to avoid the simple mistake which can quickly turn the crowd against them.

Under these circumstances, Colgan insisted, players need to be brave enough to withstand the pressures brought upon them.

He said: “At the beginning of every season every teams wants to be very hard to beat at home, victories and playing well breeds confidence. Unfortunately, on the other hand losing becomes a habit and there’s nothing worse than having such a run at home.

“Everyone becomes apprehensive, the supporters turn up wanting to be entertained. They won’t cheer from first whistle to last, they want something to get them off their seats but the players need the fans behind them, But it comes to individual players not wanting to be the one who might make a mistake and cost a goal, or take the chance of getting across their defender to maybe miss a scoring opportunity.

“There’s apprehension all round and it takes brave, brave people.

“Whatever is happening in the crowd, the chants or boos you have to take on the chin, believe in yourself, that you are a good player, to have the courage to get on the ball and try to make positive things happen.

“For me the best way forward is for everyone has to look after their own game, to do their job – you defend as well as you can, you keep goal as well as you can and so on. Everyone has to stick together, players and fans alike.

“When a club is on a good run mistakes are forgiven almost straight away but not when victories don’t happen on a regular basis. But what the fans have to remember is that no player has ever gone out on the pitch trying to make a mistake or not trying to do his best.

“Everyone, the board, the manager, the players, the supporters want the same thing and if the fans give the team their full backing then the players will respond to that.

“Players have to make sure they are in the best possible shape for matchday. You can do everything right and still have a stinker – we’ve all done that – and can’t explain why, but you have to give yourself every opportunity to have a positive performance, to be on top of your game.”

Colgan, who now plays for Huddersfield and coaches goalkeepers at Barnsley’s Academy, believes the appointment of former Hearts boss Jim Jefferies by Dunfermline following the sacking of Jim McIntyre adds a new twist to the relegation dog-fight.

He said: “It was a great pity to see Jim McIntyre lose his job as he is a friend of mine but Dunfermline felt they needed to do something that might give them the opportunity to claw back those four points. When I saw they’d gone for Jim Jefferies I thought that would be a great appointment for them. They’ll be hoping that with a new manager the players will raise their game a bit although, to me, that always begs the question why that wasn’t done under the previous manager.

“There will be some who perhaps felt they weren’t getting a chance under Jim McIntyre and others who perhaps thought their place in the side was set in stone so it will give everyone a kick.

“Jim Jefferies, although he has been out of the game for a while, knows a lot about the League, he’ll have been watching matches and will know a great deal about the Dunfermline players. However, it might take him three, four or five games to get his best team and Dunfermline don’t have that time.

“That four-point gap is still huge, one win doesn’t get Dunfermline above Hibs but I’m sure Pat Fenlon will want to get some more points on the board as soon as possible.”

Winning a loan move at the age of 20 to a Hibs side which, by the admission of their own manager, requires experience in their battle against relegation from the SPL, would indicate that Norwich City’s George Francomb is, at least in the eyes of Hibs manager Pat Fenlon, a special talent.

You fear for Hibs, you really do. Fifteen matches left to save their season with a growing number of even their own supporters questioning whether the Easter Road outfit can survive in the SPL.

Michael Hart today handed his Easter Road team-mates a stark warning as he admitted the battle to avoid the drop is now between Hibs and Dunfermline.

Ouch. Hibs have suffered a few sore ones this season, but none as painful as this, their worst defeat at Easter Road since Celtic put five past them more than 25 years ago.

Queen of the South 1 - 0 Raith Rovers: Gavin Reilly goal gives Queen of the South hope

Published on Sunday 11 March 2012 01:59

SUPER SUB Gavin Reilly came off the bench to grab a dramatic winner, which could prove crucial in Queens’ desperate battle to avoid relegation.

Reilly, who had only been on the pitch for six minutes, struck in 82 minutes when he ran on to a pass from Kevin Smith to place the ball beyond goalkeeper Ross Laidlaw from 18 yards.

The massive importance of the outcome was not lost on both sides from the outset and nerves were obvious, with passes going astray with regularity and the skill factor virtually non-existent.

Remarkably, the last six league clashes between these two clubs had resulted in away victories, but Queen’s were determined to end that trend, and in 57 minutes Danny Carmichael crossed from the left. The ball was head flicked on by Thomas Brighton for Allan Johnston, but his 15-yard effort crashed off the underside of the bar, and Laidlaw got down to gather on the line as Sam Parkin slid in.

Raith’s trips to Dumfries in recent years have proved fruitful, having only lost once at Palmerston since 2004, and that excellent record might have been improved on 71 minutes when Allan Walker turned and shot from 25 yards, but his terrific effort was turned on to a post by goalkeeper Lee Robinson.

Inverness CT 1-1 Kilmarnock: Shiels urges slack players to get act together for final

Published on Monday 12 March 2012 04:07

Kilmarnock manager Kenny Shiels knows his side will need to raise their game significantly if they are to have any chance of overcoming Celtic in Sunday’s Scottish Communities League Cup final.

The Rugby Park side, who have been struggling for form since beating Rangers at Ibrox last month, had to settle for a point in the Highland capital as Roman Golobart’s close-range effort seven minutes from time cancelled out his spectacular own goal in the first half.

It was a match where, for long spells, Inverness had Kilmarnock on the back foot and Shiels agreed that his team will have to improve to have a chance of causing an upset against rampant Celtic at Hampden. “Of course we’ll need to be better,” he said. “We’re playing the top team in the country and we’ll have to improve on what we showed against Inverness. We are going to have to show more composure and keep the ball better because at times it was like a hot potato for us on Saturday, although that was probably indicative of the way the game went for us overall.

“We certainly got a lot of practice in when it came to defending a lead against a Caley Thistle side that was throwing everything at us.”

For Inverness manager Terry Butcher, it was very much a case of fortune once again going against his side. The hosts, themselves struggling for form of late, created countless chances and but for a combination of poor finishing and Kilmarnock goalkeeper Cammy Bell, they would have recorded their first victory in seven games. Butcher said: “Our luck this season has been absolutely atrocious. I don’t know why it keeps happening, but it just seems that nothing is going for us. I always felt a goal would come because we were creating plenty of chances, but we only came out of the match with one goal and a point to show for our efforts.

“We’re toothless, not ruthless. I should just make up a DVD or CD of myself saying the same old things like we should have won the game, we had a lot of chances, but we got nothing out of the game, and then just play that because it feels like groundhog day all over again. Apart from a five minute spell at the end of the second half, we could have got a deckchair out for our goalkeeper Ryan Esson as he did not have much to do at all. I just cannot believe how we have not managed to win the game.”

Pawleys Island Golf Courses ?EUR" Playing Golf Is A Great Job

No that long ago golf was educated to be single swing with different versions. Let's say a 5-iron shot was taught as a 'miniature drive', a chip was trained as a miniature 5-iron swing and even a putt was educated as a miniature chip. In accordance with Pawleys Island Golf Courses, If you've ever seen some really previous golf footage this definitely shows with putting - it was extremely 'wristy' and even the grip was the identical as another golf swing.

This was often called the 'unified swing idea' and was taught to many golf college students for round 50 years.

There was only one drawback with this theory.

It was WRONG.

It was actually never proved and possibly came about by some golf-professional being mis-quoted in a newspaper or one thing and eventually develop into golf folks-lore.

Modern lecturers and golf gurus like Pawleys Island golf all nowadays be of the same mind that there are FIVE video games within golf.

1. Energy sport

On this part of the golf recreation you use the big muscular tissues to hit the ball as far as you can - the key title of the golf game being 'energy'.

Attributes of the facility sport embrace energy, speed, hitting and naturally power.

2. Brief game

Within the brief golf game correctness is the important thing, not power. These pictures are generally played from inside 100 yards of the hole. The purpose is to get the ball contained in the 'magic' 8 ft circle, from which you've gotten a much higher chance of holing your putt.

Once you think of the brief game it is best to think of rhythm, contact, crisp and positive.

3. Psychology

Practically all of the top golf professionals have private psychology coaches now.

As amateurs you'll be able to profit HUGELY from this part of the golf sport say Pawleys Island Golf Courses and it's properly worth learning the basics. The principle aim is to help you control your mind-set to help you give a dependable constant swing / putt when the pressure is on, however that's simply the tip of an enormous ice-berg. It is an enormous topic in its personal right.

Psychology should conjure ideas of focus, emotional control and concentration.

4. Management

Managing your means round a golf course could be a very rewarding experience - choosing the right shot on the right time and putting your ball in the right place on the course can save you a LOT of photographs and win you a whole lot of matches. The greatest exponent of fine course management by far was Jack Nicklaus.

Course administration is about strategy, skill analysis and shot selection.

5. Placing

And at last we come to placing! This golf sport is totally different from all of the others. There is no such thing as a energy involved, no body movement, a special grip, and the ball never goes into the air - at the least hopefully!

Placing is all about really feel, easy, smooth and pure.

What modern teachers also agree on is that the LEAST vital a part of golf with regards to scoring is the power game.

To score properly and win matches you want to work on putting and quick sport, carefully adopted by psychology and management.

Even the nice Jack Nicklaus did not have a brilliant energy game. It was certainly very good, but he excelled within the other areas (especially management) and this was an enormous consider his success.

Additionally take into consideration Tiger at his peak. When he turned pro he had a merely awesome energy game, however a so-so short game. He actually did not win much in his first year or in order a pro. It was solely when he started enhancing his putting and short recreation that he started to be almost unbeatable.

Subsequent time you are heading to the follow floor or booking up a training session at Pawleys Island Golf Courses, take into account working on one thing apart from the ability game and you will quickly start to see improvements in your scores.

Chinese Olympians banned from eating meat

Chinese athletes preparing for the London Olympics have been banned from eating meat over fears they may consume clenbuterol - the prohibited performance-enhancing substance led to Chinese Olympic judo champion Tong Wen's two-year ban.
The meat ban forbidding national team athletes from eating meat products when dining out was issued by China's General Administration of Sport in an urgent notice recently due to fears that banned clenbuterol substances in meat would cause athletes to fail the drug tests in the run-up to the 2012 London Games.
Huang Wenyi, a gold medal winner at the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games and currently training for the 2012 London Olympics, revealed on her Sina Weibo that clenbuterol, or "lean meat power," which is administered to livestock to bulk them up and produce leaner meat, was even found in pork products raised and prepared exclusively for athletes.
"The Administration issued an urgent order banning athletes from eating pork, beef or lamb outside. When dining out, we are only allowed to eat fish and chicken," Huang said. "Is there any food safe to eat in China?" she added. But Huang later deleted the post.
The move to guarantee Chinese Olympians are free from performance-enhancing drugs has been strictly carried out as another Olympian revealed that anyone violating the ban would be expelled from the national team.
"Now the only place that we could eat safely turns out to be our cafeteria." Lu Yong, Beijing Olympics men's 85kg weightlifting champion twitted on his Sina Weibo. "It's a disaster for athletes as the prohibited substance in over 52% of the meat products in Beijing has exceeded the drug test standard."
Top athletes brought down by eating meat containing clenbuterol
Alberto Contador, cycling
Earlier this week, three-time Tour de France champion Alberto Contador was banned from competing for two years from professional cycling and stripped of his 2010 title after testing positive for clenbuterol.
The Court of Arbitration for Sport rejected his claim that the positive result was caused by eating contaminated meat during a 2010 Tour rest day rather than taking clenbuterol as a performance-enhancing drug.
Tong Wen, judo
China's Olympic judo champion Tong Wen was banned for two years by the International Judo Federation on May 10, 2010 and was required to give back her gold medal from the World Championships of 2009.
Tong blamed pork chops for the positive clenbuterol test and subsequently contested the ban and took her case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport who ruled that a doping violation could not be proved and found in her favor ordering that she be reinstated immediately with all rights. She returned to international competition in May 2011 winning gold at the Moscow Grand Slam.
Jessica Hardy, swimming
American swimmer Jessica Hardy tested positive at the US trials in July 2008. She served a one-year suspension, having claimed she unknowingly took the drug in a contaminated food supplement.

Adult Communities by Mill Pond Golf Course

Make the most of your retirement by keeping an active lifestyle. The first step to living the good life is selecting an adult community with the characteristics that you want. If you're a fan of Tiger Woods then choose a home near Mill Pond Golf Course. Your partner might not be into that, but he/she might enjoy homes near a spa in Long Island, NY.

Closeness to crucial places is still very important for retiring adults. The real difference is you have to be near family. The best retirement homes in NY are outside the city, but near enough to family. Close enough meaning an hour and a half of driving time.

There's a chance you'll be needed to babysit on emergencies. Make sure that your retirement community has access to various types of transportation. Buses and trains that go to the city are the most important. It's a big plus if your area has a service shuttle to the city. It's practical and it takes you straight back home. It works just as well for relatives and friends who visit you.

Thoroughly look at the characteristics of your amenities. Returning to the Mill Pond Golf Course example, does it contain 10 holes, 15 holes or more? Is it all land or are there swamps and trees too? See if there's a driving range to practice. Does it require membership or is it a pay whenever you play type. Memberships are expensive and inconvenient, specially when you have huge groups of friends visiting.

Just because you love golf, it doesn't mean your spouse will. Perhaps she prefers to chat with the ladies at the spa. On the other hand, maybe she would rather have a picnic with friends. Is there a pond or something special in the area? It's good to have wine by a pond. Painting is also a wonderful activity, particularly if there are variations in the scenery.

What's your nightlife like? This is where your choice of home is important. Be sure your home is has enough space inside and out to accomodate five or more guests. Who knows maybe your home could be the poker place. Alternatively, maybe your backyard could be the wine drinking area of your friends. The missus certainly will want a backyard so you should plenty of space to not trample on the flowers and plants.

Great retirement communities have a clubhouse to support group activities. If poker at your house is not a possibility, find out if there's a lounge at the clubhouse. Perhaps there are tables for poker clubs and areas for darts. If you are the solitary type who likes a good book, then find out if there's a lounge with cozy chairs and great lighting for that. Your spouse might want to dance ballroom so do find out if there's also a hall for dancing.

Make sure you will find things your family and friends can do whenever they stop by. Kids may want to swim while teenagers might want to workout in the gym. If you have a forest nearby it makes for great hiking with your family. At night find out if there's a sports bar so so your whole family can also enjoy a major sports event such as the Super-Bowl.

Chad is a property developer who has helped construct various Long Island properties such as mill pond golf course. For additional information on what's out there, please have a look at spa long island.

Hamilton 0 - 2 Ross County: Ross County edge close to SPL dream

Published on Sunday 11 March 2012 02:00

Ross County’s seemingly inexorable rise to Scottish football’s top tier continued yesterday with a comprehensive victory at New Douglas Park, the site of their last league defeat.

That came way back in August and, by prevailing yesterday, they set a new unbeaten record for the First Division of 24 matches.

The visitors wasted no time in imposing their authority on this contest, Colin McMenamin firing them into the lead from inside the six-yard box after finding himself on the end of Scott Morrison’s cross-shot.

Central defender Scott Boyd added a second nine minutes later, heading home a Richard Brittain cross.

Having established their early superiority, County seemed content to conserve their energy, confident that Hamilton lacked the guile or gumption to breach their defence.

The Highlanders now have two home matches in the next week, against Morton on Tuesday and Falkirk next Saturday. Victory in both games would all but confirm their place in the SPL next season.

“It was important that we started well and put them under pressure,” said County manager Derek Adams. “Those early goals deflated them and they never troubled us after that. We’ve given ourselves a good opportunity to do well and I want us to remain undefeated for the rest of the season. That’s my priority.”

“They’re clinical and that’s why they are where they are,” said Accies boss Billy Reid.

Buck stops with me as manager, says McCoist

Published on Friday 23 March 2012 03:52

Ally McCoist admits the buck stops with him as Rangers aim for a timely return to winning ways against rivals Celtic in this weekend’s Old Firm derby.

Celtic could clinch the SPL title at Ibrox on Sunday depending on Motherwell’s result 24 hours earlier, while Rangers are aiming to avoid a fourth consecutive home defeat for the first time in their history.

And McCoist is well aware that he must shoulder the responsibility of the outcome of matches, despite admitting his frustration at being unable to have a major influence on the action on the park.

Asked about the differences between being a player and a manager, Rangers’ record goalscorer said: “The obvious one would be that the buck stops with you.

“When you’re manager there’s nothing you can do really when the players cross over the white line. You can make tactical changes and things like that but it’s out of your hands. The players are in total control of the game so you have to accept that. I won’t lie to you – I found it difficult to accept early on.

“You have to appreciate the players have got a job to do and you send them out to do that. That’s probably the hardest part.

“With the result, the onus is on you as manager whether you win, lose or draw.”

Being plunged into administration last month – and immediately docked ten points by the SPL as a result – effectively ended Rangers’ hopes of retaining the championship. But, as far as McCoist is concerned, pride is always at stake in the famous fixture.

He said: “It’s everything, really. It’s bragging rights until you play each other again. It’s putting one over on your biggest rivals. It’s all that. I’ve got mates who are Celtic supporters as well and I’ve been at both ends. You can give them a bit of stick and obviously when things don’t go your way, you get a bit back. To supporters it means absolutely everything.

“These are the biggest days in the footballing calendar and there’s nothing better than putting one over on your biggest rivals.”

Honours are even between Rangers and Celtic in derby clashes so far this season. McCoist drew first blood with an emphatic 4-2 win at Ibrox in September, before Neil Lennon’s men hit back with a 1-0 victory at Celtic Park in December.

The Rangers manager told BBC Alba: “In the first one, I thought we played arguably some of our best football of the whole season and we ran out comfortable winners. In the game at Celtic Park, I didn’t think there was an awful lot between the teams.

“We didn’t get the break in the first half and then we lost the goal when we switched off at a corner. I’ve enjoyed them both – but obviously I enjoyed the first one a little bit more.”

‘Thoughts will be with Muamba’ when Bolton play derby

Published on Friday 23 March 2012 03:42

Bolton manager Owen Coyle has admitted it will be impossible not to think of Fabrice Muamba when his team take on Blackburn this weekend.

Seven days after Muamba was left fighting for his life after he suffered a cardiac arrest at Tottenham, his team-mates will attempt to haul Bolton out of the relegation zone.

Ordinarily, the Lancashire derby would be viewed as crucial, a make-or-break encounter of over-riding importance.

The events of the past week have rather undermined that argument. Yes, Bolton will be trying. Yes, they could do with a win. But no, it will not demand focus to the exclusion of anything else.

“Football is not more important than what has happened,” said Coyle. “Nobody is more passionate about football than me. Is the game important? Yes in the context of the Premier League, and we will do our best. But football is not the be all and end all. What happened to Fabrice on Saturday puts everything in perspective and our first thoughts will be with him.”

Coyle spoke with his players at a team meeting yesterday and will do so again before finalising his side. They have all been told to speak up if there is a shred of doubt over the participation in a game so soon after was one of the most harrowing experiences they will ever endure. So far, there has been only silence.

“No-one has said that they don’t want to play but that may change in the next couple of days because it is going to be difficult,” said Coyle. “I had a collective chat with the group and outlined everything that happened, so there was a clear picture. One or two asked questions and if anyone feels it is too much for them, there would be no problem.

“They just have to let us know. We would do the right thing by them.”

Coyle has cautioned against expecting too much of the 23-year-old despite the rapid progress that has been made. “Fabrice still has a long way to go,” said Coyle.

He said: “We have had Derek Riordan in to play a bounce game for us and he did very well.

“We’re looking around to see what’s out there, Derek is a quality player there’s no doubt about that. He is here so we can have a look at him and he can have a look at us to see what he wants to do.

“He’d have to be happy here as well. We’ll see how things go and have a chat about it.

“I have to keep an eye on next season, that’s what I have been doing.

“But he could even play for us this season, we’ll have to see about that.

“It might be a great one to throw in between now and the end of the season.

“With all the people we have going out of contract I have to look at the options and at signing replacements.

“When a quality player like Derek comes up you have to take a look.

“He is a free agent and it depends how hungry he is to get back playing regularly.”
