UK Finest Olympic Moments in Online Video

As a nation, the UK has had our ups and our downs in the Olympics. Some the Nation predicted, some were against the odds and some were downright fluke. The UK are always watching the box, right on the edge of the sofa, mouth open in anticipation, fists clenched in complete nerves watching their Olympians compete in their name. There have certain times the whole nation has been bought to being a bag of nerves, and then felt complete inspiration mixed with shivers and Goosebumps as they watch moments the nation will talk about for years to come. The best thing about all of this is that all these moments are recorded history in now online video or if you're lucky enough in HD video clips. These, are the UK's finest moments. Search each title on 'YouTube' to find the full video.

"1992 DEREK REDMOND AND THE OLYMPIC SPIRIT "

Derek Redmond in 1992 became an Olympic champion, but did not win a medal. Redmond on this day became a beacon of inspiration for people all around the World. Competing in the 400m final, at the 200m mark Redmond tore his hamstring muscle. Instead of retiring from the race, Redmond limped in serious pain to the finish line with his Dad coming on to assist him whilst the crowd gave him a standing ovation for his attitude. This has become one of the well-remembered moments in Olympic history, even Barack Obama mentioned it in his bid for the Olympics in America 2016. It's a shame this was never captured as a HD video clip!

STEVE REDGRAVE & MATHEW PINSENT OLYMPICS 2000 SYDNEY ROWING

In 2000, 16 years after his first medal in 1984, Steve Redgrave competed in Sydney under the dubious eyes of the nation who were watching an aging body compete in the Olympics against other young sterling athletes from other nations. Steve Redgrave with the help the coxless 4s team helped him achieve the first ever Briton to take 5 consecutive gold medals. A true UK champion. In 2012 watching the rowing in HD video will really keep audiences feeling 'strokes ahead!' technology-wise.

2004 Olympic 4x100m relay final men

This was a race I remember no-one at home spoke for, except for screams of 'COME ON!'…'COME ON!!!!' in every living room, kitchen with a TV, bar or pub in the UK. Everyone was behind the four chaps who overcame all odds and took the race from under the American's noses (which made the victory oh-so-sweeter). Lewis-Francis put in an astounding effort as the last runner in the race, not allowing himself to be defeated by the USA star Maurice Greene - even though Lewis-Francis's performance in the Olympics had been distinctly average. This was truly a moment that the nation would remember for years to come.

These moments make up some of the defining moments of the UK in the Olympics in recent years. We can only hope that London 2012 brings more splendours, and now in the era of High Definition, we will have a plethora of HD video clips online for us to peruse over till the end of time.
